Mazal Tov Sydney and Jack Mandel! Sydney and Jack are the daughter and son of Jamie and Michael Mandel. Sydney and Jack will be called to the Torah in honor of their B’nai Mitzvah on October 17, 2020. They are both in 8th grade at Miami Country Day School. Sydney and Jack were born in New York City and grew up in Summit, NJ. They moved to Miami Beach after completing 5th grade in Summit, New Jersey.
As twins, Sydney and Jack have always enjoyed a unique bond to each other. They always have each other’s backs.
Sydney and Jack are an amazing sister and brother to their older brother, Alex. They love to hang out with Alex as well as with Bailey, their cockapoo, whether spending time at the beach, the pool or just chilling out at home. Sydney and Jack are both kind, confident and motivated and their family could not be prouder of the exceptional young adults that they are growing up to be.
Sydney and Jack love travelling to different parts of the world with their family, whether it be visiting family in Canada, family cruises and trips, hiking in the mountains in US or Canada or exploring destinations in Israel or Europe. They also love spending time during the summers at Camp Silver Lake in New York with their older brother and their friends from New Jersey and New York.
Sydney and Jack’s drive and determination, both inside and outside of the classroom, is exceptional. Sydney and Jack are in all honors classes at school and have risen to the challenge by excelling in all of their classes. Also, both Sydney and Jack are swimmers who have competed on various teams, both in New Jersey and Miami, over the past several years, including the Miami Country Day team.
Jack and Sydney love spending time with their grandparents, Adrienne and Arturo Rainerman, who live in Miami, as well as Estrid Mandel (Baba) who lives in Winnipeg, Canada. They honor their Zaida, Allan Mandel z”l , who is no longer with us. He would be incredibly proud if he could see Sydney and Jack up on the bimah.
We are so proud of Sydney and Jack and all that they have accomplished. They both take great pride in their Jewish heritage and have worked extremely hard for this special day. We are honored to celebrate Sydney and Jack’s B’nai Mitzvah with our family and friends. Mazel Tov Sydney and Jack! We love you!
