HAVDALLAH BAT MITZVAH

LILY SANDRA LAMPERT, daughter of Jeff and Shirley Lampert, is honored to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah Service with her family on September 7, 2024. Lily is very proud to carry on this Jewish tradition and to mark her entrance as an adult into our Jewish Community.  Lily is looking forward to celebrating her Bat Mitzvah with all her friends this coming January.
 
Lily graduated from Lehrman Community Day School in the spring of 2023 and is currently in seventh grade at Miami Country Day School. Lily has been on the Director’s List for her outstanding grades

both semesters of 6th grade and is currently on track to excel academically this year.

In addition to her academic achievements, Lily is also a remarkable golfer and basketball player.  Lily leads the girl’s varsity golf team at Miami Country Day School and plays basketball on the girl’s middle school team.  Lily was recognized by the Miami Herald Community Newspaper with an honorable mention award for her golfing and contributed to an undefeated season ending in a middle school championship for basketball.

Although Lily works hard at school and sports, her true passion is dance.  Lily has been dancing with “Hip Hop Kidz” since she was five years old.  Lily currently dances in two dance crews, both the Dade Production and Broward Production companies.  Lily has also been accepted into the Hip Hop Kidz protégé program, her final stepping-stone to Dade Crew, the Hip Hop Kidz top elite crew.  Lily stuns on stage!  Her vivacious personality and incredible confidence pour out of her as she dances, and we are so proud of not only her dancing ability but her commitment to attending classes, and consistent practicing.  Lily received the “Best in Hip-Hop” award at Miami Country Day School at the completion of Dance I last year and is excited to continue with Dance II at school this year.  Lily has already had the opportunity to dance for major celebrities and choreographers and has even performed with “Walk The Moon” during the Capital One Orange Bowl Halftime Show this past college football season.
 
During her very limited free time, Lily loves playing with her girlfriends, going to the mall, going to the pool or beach, attending concerts, enjoying sporting events, and going out to eat with her family and friends.
 
Lily spends her summers at Camp Blue Ridge in Clayton, Georgia.  There is no doubt that this is her happy place.  Lily loves her summers at CBR so much and has made forever long friendships with her bunkmates who adore her.
 
We could not be prouder of Lily.  At only twelve years old, she has already accomplished so much, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for our special girl.
 
Lily would like to thank her mom, Shirley Lampert, her savta, Ahuva Franco, Rabbi Pearlson, Rabbi Kunis, and Rosalind Lanes for taking the time to prepare her for her Bat Mitzvah service.  We are all truly excited to celebrate her this Saturday night.

     It is with great pride and joy that we, Laurent and Angie, introduce our beloved daughter, Sienna Esther Chemla, as she becomes a Bat Mitzvah. Sienna is a shining light in our family, a loving and respectful daughter whose dedication to her family and siblings is unparalleled.
     She is a diligent and excellent student, consistently working hard and demonstrating outstanding character. Sienna is currently an 8th-grade student at Miami Arts Charter, where she is an active participant in the theater program. Her passion for performance is matched by her athleticism, as she excels in volleyball and plays on the  advanced travel team at NMB Academy. Beyond her academic and athletic pursuits, Sienna also enjoys playing the piano, has a deep love for languages, and enjoys immersing herself in international movies and

Korean drama. Her kindness and caring nature extend to her friends and everyone she meets, making her a cherished member of her community. 

     Sienna's commitment to making a difference is evident in her active participation in Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization. She is proud to support and help the land, people, and future of Israel through her volunteer efforts. This summer, Sienna had the profound experience of returning to Israel, where she spent cherished moments with her grandfather, Franklin Chemla. During her visit, she witnessed firsthand the resilience and strength of the Israeli people in the face of adversity, especially following the tragic events of October 7th. Sienna's understanding of the importance of these experiences has deepened her commitment to her heritage and the Jewish community.

      We are incredibly proud of the young woman Sienna has become and are excited to see her continue to grow and make a positive impact in the world. Please join us in celebrating Sienna Esther Chemla as she embraces this significant milestone in her life. We thank you all for being a part of this important day for our family.

*After 318 days in captivity:* in a joint operation by the IDF and the Shin Bet, the IDF forces released 6 of the hostages bodies found in Gaza: Chaim Perry, Yoram Metzger, Avraham Monder, Nadav Popelwell, Alexander Danzig and Yagav Buchstab.

CIVILIANS 

Gideon Peri, 38 from the town of Kedumim in Samaria, was murdered on Sunday in a terror attack at the Baron industrial area near his hometown. A Palestinian Arab employee at the industrial area attacked Peri with a hammer, stole his gun, and fled the scene.

Peri, a Kedumim native, was the manager of a factory in the Baron industrial area. He struggled with the terrorist but was severely injured and later in the evening succumbed to his injuries at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. He is survived by his wife, three children, parents, and siblings.

No new names were released by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as of Aug 8 2024

CIVILIANS
Two people were killed and two others were wounded in a terror stabbing attack in the central city of Holon on Sunday morning. One of the victims has been identified as Rina Daniv, 66. Her husband, Shimon, 68, was seriously wounded. An 80-year-old man was also murdered, his name has not yet been released. The assailant did not have entry permit to Israel and was killed by police.

Alma Ayman Fakher Eldin, 11, Milad Muadad Alsha’ar, 10; Vinees Adham Alsafadi, 11; Iseel Nasha’at Ayoub, 12; Yazan Nayeif Abu Saleh, 12; Johnny Wadeea Ibrahim, 13; Ameer Rabeea Abu Saleh, 16; Naji Taher Alhalabi, 11; Fajer Laith Abu Saleh, 16; Hazem Akram Abu Saleh, 15; Nathem Fakher Saeb, 16.; and Gevara Ebraheem, 11.

In addition, Nir Popko, 28, was killed when a Hezbollah rocket hit a Galilee panhandle home in Kibbutz Hagoshrim on Tuesday.
