Mazal Tov Ethan Mavorah! After postponing Ethan's Bar Mitzvah in October 2020, we are filled with pride and joy to be celebrating this milestone in our lives on March 13, 2021. Ethan is 13 years old and in 7th grade at Ruth K. Broad Middle School in Bay Harbor. He also attended Hebrew School at Temple Menorah over the past couple of years. Prior to becoming a "Bobcat" at Ruth K. Broad, he started as a "Lion" at Lehrman Community Day School, which is where he began learning Hebrew and Jewish studies.
Ethan, or as we like to call him "E", is a kind, smart, creative, passionate, funny and well-rounded young man. He has a huge heart and has compassion for others. For his Mitzvah Project, Ethan helped South Florida's most vulnerable (the homeless) stay safe during the Coronavirus pandemic. He collected donations from friends and family to help create 200 COVID Care Kits which consisted of hand sanitizers, cotton and disposable face masks, antibacterial wipes, reusable water bottles and vitamin C immunity packs and donated them to Camillus House in February.
By day, you'll find Ethan in school (actually, at home online at school). Some of his favorite subjects include civics, computers and math. You'll also find him on the field or on a court. He's a big-time sports lover and athlete, who is the quarterback for his flag football team. Ethan is an avid tennis and basketball player, street hockey lover and also likes to ride his bike in the neighborhood. By night, Ethan likes to chill & Netflix by watching movies and, of course, playing video games.
Ethan is super excited to become a man and share this special moment in his life with a small group of family and friends in person at Temple Menorah and via a livestream to those who are near and dear to us. Shabbat Shalom!
