Sanctuary Flowers Are Sponsored By Nick & Estee Gelpi in honor of the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter Olive
MAZAL TOV OLIVE! Olive Gelpi is sister to Mimi, Sally, and Miles, and daughter of Estee and Nick Gelpi. Olive is lucky to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah with her grandparents, Dorothy and Raphy Elkayam, and Candi and Marc Pastorek. Her grandfather, Doug Gelpi z’l is here with her in spirit.
Olive is a 7th grader at Ransom Everglades, where she earns straight A’s, and was MVP of the JV soccer team. She is an alumna of Lehrman Community Day School. Olive is a
creative force of nature, who grew up drawing and doodling and daydreaming when she wasn’t busy telling jokes to her family. She is also a force on the soccer field where she routinely logs ten steals in a single game.
She is a scholar, and no book is safe when she picks it up… she tears through the pages and devours its contents at a rate hard to fathom. She plays electric guitar, has a beautiful voice, enjoys skateboarding, fishing, making funny videos, and is a loyal friend who is always laughing. She is an Optimist.
For her Mitzvah project, Olive participated in the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Young Lions of Judah program. There, she spent time interviewing and learning from a Holocaust survivor named Alan Hall. Olive is so grateful to Alan, for his time spent getting to know her, and for his example of strength, endurance and hope in the face of evil.
Olive has a tremendous family and is blessed today to be joined by aunts and uncles, great aunts and great uncles, cousins, second cousins, and her friends. She has worked tirelessly to prepare for her Bat Mitzvah and we are all so proud of her. We all admire her for her smile and her loving personality that fills the room.
