Staff Sgt. Danilo Mocanu, 20 (from Holon) of the 7th Armored Brigade’s 82nd Battalion, died when a building collapsed following the detonation of an explosive device in Khan Yunis. 
Sgt. Yosef Yehuda Chirak, 22 (from Harasha) of the Combat Engineering Corps’ 601st Battalion.

We mourn the heartbreaking and tragic loss of the two Israeli Embassy staff members who were killed in a brutal act of violence outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC. Their lives were devoted to building bridges and promoting understanding — making their loss to hatred all the more devastating.

We grieve with their families, loved ones, and the entire Jewish community. May their memories be a blessing, and may we carry forward their vision of a more peaceful, inclusive world.​​​​​​​
